Wow! What a year it has been so far!
At the start of the year I wouldn’t have dreamt of riding into the Niagara Falls or going on a hot air balloon ride!
I feel so lucky to have had these amazing experiences, and especially blessed to share them with the person I love!
HOT AIR BALLOON RIDE
Yesterday was the third and final weekend spent celebrating Jeremy’s 21st Birthday! This wasn’t the original plan but the hot air ballon ride was cancelled on his birthday and last weekend as the weather just wasn’t good enough!
The hot air balloon ride is a 3 hour experience, although only an hour of this time is actually spent in the sky!
The first hour is spent preparing the balloon for the flight and having questions answered by the ballooning team!
Setting up was a relatively quick process, and in no time at all we climbed into the basket and set off!
I am so glad we waited for a beautiful clear day! We could see for miles and had some great views, most notably over Bath and of the ‘White Horse’.
We also got to enjoy sunset from up in the sky whilst sipping a couple of glasses of champagne!
What a great way to celebrate!
Landing was so much better than I could have hoped for! We were warned that we needed to keep our head and shoulders back as the landing can be quite bumpy and the basket might also tip!
Although we were super lucky, and clearly had a very experienced pilot whose landing was very smooth indeed!
We landed in a farmer’s field about 10 miles outside of Bath. We were greeted by a family of farmers and their puppies, which was a pretty amazing end!
Although packing up was probably the least enjoyable part of the experience. I wasn’t dressed particularly warm, nor was I dressed for farmers fields! So the final hour spent packing up in the middle of a field after the sun went down was a cold one! I suggest you dress warm if you plan to do a hot air balloon ride!
Overall, I really enjoyed the experience! More than I thought I would to be totally honest! So if your not sure, I encourage you to go outside your comfort zone and give it a go!
It’s been a great year so far. I have been to Torremolinos, Playa de las Americas, Brussels, New York, Philadelphia, Washington DC, Niagara Falls, Toronto, Thousand Islands, Ottawa, Montreal, Quebec, Boston and Berlin! We also have Venice to look forward to at the end of November!
Jeremy and I aren’t made of money. But we just live within our means and spend our money wisely. You can check out another one of my posts HERE where I talk about what we do to afford all our holidays and experiences!
We feel passionately about doing and seeing as much as we can as young as we can. So we work hard and save hard to achieve that!
What do you want to achieve? I hope you have some amazing highlights as you think back over the last year!
Thanks me for reading
P.S. What else would you like to see from me?
